Mission Statement
Nationally-backed organization
The National PTA is a formal membership organization headquartered in Chicago with a 105-year history of working for children. Local groups that choose to belong to the PTA must pay dues to the state and national organization and abide by state and national group rules. In return, they get member benefits, and they get a voice in the operations of the larger organization. The National PTA maintains a Washington, D.C., lobbying office, and most state PTAs advocate at their respective state capitals, as well. The PTA carefully protects its name, so that only dues-paying members of the group can officially call themselves a PTA.
Fund-raising is vital in today’s lean school budget environment
The State of New Jersey has reduced its financial aid significantly over the past several years. Through its year-round fundraisers and careful fiscal management, the Lumberton PTA provides its students with quality educational enrichment.
Why Join PTA
The Lumberton PTA is a group of dedicated volunteers committed to the students of our district. Research shows that children do better when their parents and families are involved both at home and at school. Grades are higher. Test scores rise. Self-esteem grows. Schools improve. There is one person who can make these outcomes a reality for your child, your school and your community. It’s YOU: by joining and being involved in the Lumberton PTA.
